Clearway Community Solar is an Approved Vendor of the Illinois Shines program, also known as the Adjustable Block Program or “ABP.” Illinois Shines is a state-administered program for new solar development and solar PV systems. Clearway’s Community Solar farms produce local solar power, and the Renewable Energy Credits, or “RECs” are sold to the Illinois Shines program to help Illinois reach its renewable energy goals.

How Community Solar Works
Clearway builds and operates solar farms in . Space is available on a first-come, first-served basis. You will be notified via email when space becomes available.
Subscribers support 100% local, renewable energy without green power premiums or Retail Electric gimmicks. There is no rooftop installation, no enrollment fees, and there are never any maintenance fees.
In return for your subscription and support of locally produced renewable energy, you will receive solar bill credits directly on your utility bill that reduce your electricity charges.
Clearway's Terms of Service includes convenient cancellation terms, including a $0 cancellation fee.1

The Community Solar Process & Savings Guarantee
Clearway Community Solar farms produce renewable solar electricity that goes to your local power grid. Polluted energy sources are replaced with clean ones.
Then, you receive solar bill credits automatically applied to your utility bill, reducing your costs. Because it pays to support renewable power.
You pay Clearway for the solar bill credits and receive a GUARANTEED discount every month.2 Replace dirty power on the grid with clean power and pay less for the cost of the solar bill credits.

This means for every $1.00 you receive in solar bill credits that reduce your electric costs, you only pay Clearway .

Customers not on their utility default supply service rate may not receive the same savings or any savings. The impact of the solar bill credits on the utility charges can vary month to month due to seasonal variances affecting solar energy production. Actual savings may vary in the event the customer (i) cancels early, (ii) does not receive credits, or (iii) receives a reduced credit amount due to utility errors or delays. There is one final step to complete your enrollment. Clearway is required to collect a recent utility bill to verify your account and home energy consumption.
This is a requirement with your utility to facilitate your solar bill credits, and it also helps Clearway ensure you are sized to the appropriate portion of the Community Solar farm.
Please be sure to provide all full pages of your utility bill with complete and legible images to ensure processing of your account. Partial utility bills or partial images will not be accepted.

Account Verification
Clearway will review the documents you’ve provided, ensure your household meets the program qualifications, and work with your utility to confirm your account.* This may take up to 7 business days. If any further information or adjustments are needed, Clearway will contact you using the phone number and email provided.
Your Enrollment
Once your documents are approved, Clearway will email you an executed Disclosure Form or Agency Document in addition to your Terms of Service (Agreement) and Community Solar Facts Label to confirm your enrollment.
New Customer Welcome!
You will also receive a new customer Welcome Kit mailed to your home that includes your Clearway account number and more helpful information. Plus, Clearway will keep in touch over email and keep you informed as to when your assigned Community Solar farm will be placed in service.
